Fabien is devoted to painting because images cannot conceal flaws. Painting, through its dots, lines, and other unexpected forms, creates its own randomness, fully participating in artistic expression. A gesture of wielding a brush, an unplanned stain, a splash of paint—all alter and shake the canvas, communicating and resonating.
Humans and wild animals have had an ambiguous and entangled relationship since prehistoric times, giving rise to a series of emotions such as love, violence, and fear. The natural instincts of wild animals have always drawn my thoughts.
Imitation is not authenticity: the creative process must infuse new energy and thought into your creation. My animals leap wildly, deform and stretch intensely; Fabien does not depict the animal's form realistically, he depicts its soul: not the imprint of an image, but the first silent cry of humanity. As Brancusi said, I do not paint "birds," I paint "flight."
